Green Belt

Green Belt Practice Guide

Overview

This level completes the form the students learned at gold belt and
creates one of the longer type of forms they will be doing from now on. They will learn the back leg round and
turn side kicks. 

Expectation

The Student should be familiar with and able to perform any of the
moves at this level and all previous levels.

Proficiency

Must be able to do the combinations without thinking. Form must be
done with precision and consistency.

Practice

Practice 5-15 minutes at least 4 times a week. You may do a
combination drill. Practice your moves by saying them as you do them. Make a practice calendar.

Time till next belt

Usually 3-9 months. Testing happens 3 times a year. December’s test
will be during class, April’s test will be at the tournament, August’s in class (for summer students). Set your
goals!

Combinations

  1. Three round kicks, back punch.
  2. Two round kicks, skip up low round kick, high round kick, back punch.
  3. Skip front kick, back leg round kick, turn side kick.

Green Belt Form

  • From Ready position (12 o’clock): Turn to your left (9 o’clock) double forearm
    block. YELL! Step right knife block, punch left hand.
  • Turn to your left (3 o’clock): double forearm block, knife block right hand, punch left hand.
  • Turn (12 o’clock) double forearm block. Step forward double lunge punch. YELL! 
  • Spin through 9 and 6 o’clock to 3 o’clock double forearm block, knife block right hand, punch left hand.
  • Turn to your left (9 o’clock) double forearm block. Step right knife block, punch left
    hand. YELL!
  • Step toward 12 o’clock with your right foot, low block right hand, point right hand, kick left foot, punch left
    hand, kick right foot, punch right hand, step forward left-right punch.
  • Spin through 9 and 6 o’clock to 3 o’clock, knife block left hand, low block left, point left, kick right, punch
    right. Turn left (9 o’clock), knife block left hand, low block left, point left, kick right, punch right.
    YELL!

 

Self Defense

  1. Choke release, jump back. 
  2. Choke release, both hands on your head, spin.
